  Food processing contain a list of steps that adds value of food. This may include simple washing to final processing for preservation of food to develop new products of better quality and nutrition of food. Food processing  ensures the preservation of nutrients, providing consumer convenience, enhancement of period by reducing the number of physical, chemical and biological hazards. Most of industries now equipped to regulate all the processes from its point of receiving to final processing. Thus, most food are subjected to one or more processing steps. Now new technologies are developed that help in reduction of quality losses. Food processing is often studied under the topic of food science and technology.

 For example

Processing of meat contain all the procedures from its slaughtering, skinning, evisceration, dressing, cutting and production of final products. In all these steps of food processing techniques we have to assure about the quality, safety, shelf life and nutritional status of meat.
