Uses of organic packaging for food products:

Organic packaging is also used for the packaging of the food products.

1. Coconut husks:

Coconut husks that are discarded after the use of coconut can also be used for food products. These are molded with organic adhesive to become cartons for the egg, fruits and vegetable. This organic packaging provides protection to fresh produce during the transportation. The coconut fibers that are used for packaging of different food products are biodegradable and environment friendly. 

 



         

2. Kraft papers:

Kraft papers are also known as brown paper. The kraft word is typically  derived from the German word Kraft which means strength and resistance. These are used to make bags to carry over things and to package objects.

                                



3. Bagasse:

Bagasse is a by-product or pulpy residue that is obtained during the sugar production after the juice is extracted. The leftover stalks of sugarcane are collected ad then molded into various shapes or containers. Bagasse is naturally grease resistant so it is mainly used for the packaging of wet and oily foods. Bagasse is favorite among people or consumers due to its thermal characteristics. The bagasse containers are ecofriendly because they are easily compostable as compared to the plastic containers.it is widely used by food distributors because of its ecofriendly properties.

                                             





4. Nature Flex:

Nature flex is a clear film that is made from the cellulose that is naturally found in the wood pulp. Cellulose has been one of the most abundant organic materials that is found naturally. It is also heat resistant or heat sealable. Nature Flex is also grease resistant and microwavable. It is use for cutlery packs and also in food bags. It can also for confectionary and bakery items because it is a good moisture barrier and help to increase the shelf life of product.




5.Bioplastic:

Bioplastic are produced from plastic which are renewable materials, such as vegetable fat,  starch, wood and recycled food waste etc. Bioplastics are used for disposable items, such as packaging of confectionery items, traditional food items and bakery products. . The bottles are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the exact same plastic that derived from petrochemical processes, but 30 % originate from Brazilian sugar




6.Wood:

Wood is a complex natural material and can interact with food, like any other material for packaging. Wood packaging is used to manufacture crates, trays, boxes and  bags  to pack, handle , transport, preserve and give added value to food like fruit and vegetable, fish and seafood, spirits and wines, oils, cheese and dairy, meat , bread, bakery and dried fruits.
